If you contact us through the site or by email, we receive what you send: typically your name, firm, email address, telephone number, and a description of the matter. Because our work requires conflict checks, you may also send the names of parties and counsel. We use this information to respond to you, to run a conflict check, and, if an engagement follows, to open and perform it.

Information provided for a conflict check is held in confidence whether or not we are retained. It is used only to determine whether we can accept the matter and to maintain our conflict records, and it is not used for marketing.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, this site collects standard technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, and the date and time of your visit. The site is hosted on WordPress.com, whose systems collect this information in server logs and through cookies. We may also use website analytics, such as Google Analytics or the hosting platform’s statistics, to understand how the site is used. Analytics data is aggregated and does not identify you to us by name.

How we share information

We do not sell personal information. We keep information as long as needed for the purposes above and to meet our professional record-keeping obligations. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect it, but no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure. Please do not send confidential financial records or other sensitive documents through the site; once an engagement is opened, we will provide a secure method of transfer.

Your choices

You may ask us to correct, update, or delete the personal information you have sent us, subject to our record-keeping obligations, by writing to inquiries@samonsharris.com. You may unsubscribe from any email communications by using the link in the message or by contacting us.

Children and links

This site is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 18. It may contain links to other websites, which have their own privacy practices; we are not responsible for them.

No engagement by use of this site. Reading this site, submitting the contact form, or sending us an email does not create an engagement or any professional relationship with Samons Harris or either of its practices. An engagement begins only when a written engagement letter is signed. Until then, please do not send confidential documents, and understand that no professional privilege attaches to information sent through this site.

Two practices, one name. Samons Harris is the name under which two separately owned professional practices market together. Forensic accounting and litigation support services are provided by Samons Harris Forensics, led by Anthony D. Samons, CPA/CFF/PFS, CDFA, in Melbourne, Florida. Business valuation and economic damages services are provided by Samons Harris Valuation, led by William Harris, ASA, CFA, in Miami, Florida. Each engagement is with the practice named in the engagement letter, and neither practice is responsible for the work of the other.

Results vary. Descriptions of the work we do, and any statistics on this site, describe past experience and do not predict the outcome of any matter.

Intellectual property. The Samons Harris name and logo, and the content of this site, are owned by Samons Harris or its licensors and may not be reproduced without permission, except that articles may be shared with attribution and a link to the original.

Governing law. These terms and any dispute relating to this site are governed by the laws of the State of Florida.
